been thinking a lot about what mr. V said to me the other day

the other day when i visited, i told him about how all the other students in my classes were like “oh yeah my mom and dad work for google and microsoft” or “yeah we had programming classes in high school so its not even that hard”. 

and i told him about how i felt hella behind and whatnot, cuz well my background isn’t that great. i mean my mom and dad don’t have such prestigious job titles and i mean my education was limited by what resources i had available to me. 

but its the fact that he told me, “don’t worry about those other students whose parents work for google or microsoft. they’ve been raised with that stuff since they were a child. in the end, you’ll be more successful than them because of your background.”

i mean don’t get me wrong, i would have loved to have those opportunities when i was in high school and stuff. and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with having them. its just nice to be reassured once in a while that regardless of your background or where you came from, someone thinks that you’ll be successful, that you’ll make it in the end, even when you don’t think you’ll be able to.
